Conrad O’Brien attorney Patricia Hamill has been recognized as the “2018 Pennsylvania Power Player” by The Legal Intelligencer. The Power Player award recognizes “attorneys who, through their advocacy, made a significant impact in 2017 on public policy, legislation or jurisprudence in Pennsylvania.” Patricia was the only attorney who was given this award. She is recognized for her work in building a regional and nationwide Title IX, Due Process, & Campus Discipline practice, litigating against colleges and universities on behalf of college students who have been subjected to campus disciplinary proceedings or who have been suspended, expelled from or otherwise disciplined by their colleges following campus disciplinary hearings for alleged sexual misconduct or other alleged Student Code violations.
Patricia has used her experience as a platform for advocacy. For example, in the fall of 2017, Patricia spoke at a public hearing before the U.S. Department of Education at the hearing on “Regulation Reform: Public Hearings on Title IX Regulations and Guidance,” which sought input from the public on the Department's regulations and guidance on Title IX. Patricia has also has spoken extensively throughout Pennsylvania and nationally on Title IX litigation to audiences of higher education Title IX coordinators, advocacy groups, and attorneys.
Patricia will be featured in the Legal’s June 2018 “Professional Excellence Supplement” and will be honored at an awards dinner in the Chrystal Tea Room in Philadelphia on June 27, 2018.
