In Fall 2018, the Pennsylvania Coalition of Public Charter Schools’ (PCPCS) formed the Legal Advisory Council (LAC). Conrad O’Brien partner and chair of the Education Law Practice Group, Pat Hennessy, has been selected to serve as one of the attorneys on this three-member council in its inaugural term.
The Council is comprised of attorneys in Pennsylvania who serve charter schools clients and specialize in the charter school law and will advise PCPCS on matters of general concern to charter schools in Pennsylvania. They will provide legal advice to PCPCS so that the Board of Trustees may make appropriate policy decisions on behalf of its membership and will also work with the participating attorneys as the need arises for litigation work.
Pat brings to the council years of experience representing and advising schools from the application drafting process through startup and ongoing operations. She is a charter schools advocate and activist, serving on the National Litigation Council for the National Alliance of Public Charter Schools and as a long-term member of the Alliance of Public Charter School Attorneys. Pat is also active in legislative affairs on a state level on issues related to the Pennsylvania School Code, education reform, school choice, and other related legislative areas that impact schools.
