Conrad O'Brien is pleased to announce that the Firm has obtained a favorable defense verdict in a legal malpractice arbitration case. Details of the arbitration victory can be found below.
Conrad O’Brien attorneys Nicholas M. Centrella and Aya M. Salem successfully obtained a defense verdict in a legal malpractice case against a Pennsylvania attorney. The client represented a person in a suit against the seller of a property that he purchased due to alleged fraudulent concealment of defects to the property. The complaint alleged that the attorney failed to raise the proper facts and legal arguments to avoid the statute of limitations defense raised by the defendant. At the arbitration, Conrad O’Brien argued that plaintiff lost the underlying suit because of his own prior knowledge of the defects in the property more than two years before he filed suit, not because of any negligence on the part of the attorney. After a two-day binding arbitration, the arbitrator ruled in favor of the defense on all counts.
