Conrad O'Brien Achieves Charter School Victory

This week the Commonwealth Court found that the Pennsylvania Department of Education violated the Charter School Law by not redirecting money from the Philadelphia School District that the legislature intended to be used to educate students at KIPP Philadelphia Charter Schools and Richard Allen Preparatory Charter School. The Commonwealth Court also ordered the Department of Education to pay KIPP and Richard Allen Prep’s attorneys’ fees. The win helped bring over $600,000 worth of funds to the charter schools. KIPP and Richard Allen Prep were represented in the Commonwealth Court by Patricia HennessyJud Aaron, Kathy Nagle, and Andrew Garden from Conrad O’Brien.
